Size of the sun is (~2x ~100x ~400x ~1000x) that of the Moon, but the distance from the Sun to the Earth and Moon is (~5x ~100x ~400x ~1000x) the distance from the Earth to the Moon. Therefore, as viewed from the Earth, the Sun and Moon appear roughly the same size.
